I’ve always been a keen believer that vitamins should be consumed from its natural source. Hence I have always been a keen believer in organic produce, and I never take vitamin supplements (can something that gives you flurorescent pee really be good for you?).
Vitamin water is presently one very popular product on the market, due to the efforts many people are taking towards healthy nutrition and hydration habits. Nevertheless, there are several objections to the extended or exclusive use of vitamin water on a regular basis.
Upon reading the label, the second ingredient is crystalline fructose. That’s high-fructose corn syrup (which I use in Korean cooking) and there’s about 32 grams. It’s not much difference to drinking a can of soft drink.
There are plenty more nutrients in a glass of fresh juice!
Voted 19th on the unhealthiest drinks in America: (Men’s Health)
130 calories
33 g sugar
“Vitamins and water might sound like the ultimate nutritional tag team, but what the label doesn’t say is that a bottle of this stuff carries nearly as much sugar and calories as a can of Coke. Makes sense, though, since this so-called functional beverage is produced by our often-sugar-crazy friends at The Coca-Cola Company. “
My thoughts?
It’s a great drink to replace high-sugared soft drinks
but an awful replacement to water, especially after excercising.

I remember reading that article, might as well just make my own energy drink…
nothing beats… um.. water.
well except hot bikini clad asian hunnies swimming in that water… oh yea!
Water is always the best
I’m glad that I dislike the “pain” on the tongue when drinking fizzy drinks since a kid and not a fan of energy drink.
I hate sugary drinks
Seriously, I though it was something good looking at the label and also looking at the details of the nutrient but I never actually compare with the fizzy drink. I personally have fried two bottles of this and this thing is so expansive!
I guess due to the show Sex in the City’s publicity as well… it got popular…
omg… i was thinking about writing a blog about water last night, lol! yes, HFCS is similiar but someone told me that crystalline fructose allows the mfg to not add additives or preservatives to keep the flavor. That’s pbbly the only diff. You can thank Coca-Cola for buying Glacéau cuz. It’s only a matter of time before we have to buy anything liquids from Coke or Pepsi. I wonder about milk now. haha
i agree. vitamins from food are best.
Agreed; vitamin water does have a lot of sugar as well as the helpful supply of vitamins. All-natural is the best. H20 for the win!
water is welcome!
i like the pink one haha but you’re right… not the healthiest option
flavored water is what/
oh well, at least it tastes good…
