eating with friends = happiness

Hello everyone, I hope you have all enjoyed an amazing and relaxing holiday season.

Something to ponder about for the new year:

From Daniel Gilbert of Harvard to Martin Seligman of Princeton, the “happiness” (self-reported well-being) researchers seem to agree on one thing: meal time with friends and loved ones is a direct predictor of happiness. Have at least one 2-3-hour dinner and/or drinks per week — yes, 2-3 hours — with those who make you smile and feel good. I find the afterglow effect to be greatest and longest with groups of 5 or more. Two times that are conducive to this: Thursday dinners or after-dinner drinks and Sunday brunches.

So enjoy what we do best with our loved ones regularly this year: Eat, drink and be merry!

Other depressing resolutions: shedding those holiday kilos – you’ll all know why when I post my updates later, just exactly how much I’ve consumed in the last two weeks!

Like my post? Spread it like butter!

i completely agree with those “happiness” researchers… except i have to watch where i eat out with friends and loved ones, otherwise there could be more holiday kilos! :/

    You’re back!  YAY!!

“Food…mmm…” I like…except, I only have 2 more months to indulge before I have to resort to finding other ways to ‘happiness’.  But I most certainly agree with you now that I don’t really have to worry too much about kilos.

Can’t wait to hear about your trip and other events.
