Brainstorm

As much as I would love to do the maple syrup diet – which was my favorite out of everyone’s fad diet inputs; it is a liquid only diet, and there is was reason why Beyonce was paid millions to do it. A mixture of maple syrup, lemon juice and pepper with water is not something I can drink ten times a day. Sorry. It would’ve been super amusing, but I can’t do it! A girl’s gotta eat.

Perhaps I will do a variation on the raw food diet along with a low carb intake. Now the challenge is for this to taste good!

today’s lunch: Baby cos lettuce, tuna, raw mushrooms, cucumber, tomato, handful of corn kernels, olives with balsamic vinegrette

Other ideas I’m currently thinking of:

Seared peppered tuna on a bed of wakame salad, ponzu dressing
Sashimi, sashimi, sashimi ($$$$$)
Vegetable sticks with organic hummus, paprika
Soft poached egg, asparagus, truffle oil, black pepper
Salmon carparccio, lemon oil, baby capers
Crab meat, mango and julienned cucumber salad
Edamame with sea salt and shichimi (Japanese 7 spice)
Shaved Turkey breast with… ???
Baby rucola, nashi and walnut salad with EVO and balsamic
Lightly grilled Shrimp with fresh tomato and basil salsa
Cold Tofu with paperthin daikon radish, soy and miso dressing
Sydney Rock Oysters with champagne vinegar

Borrrrring… but totally doable! What else tastes great with hardly any calories? It’s time to really discover the world of spices.

currently questionable foods:
Haloumi

I hear that you burn more calories chewing celery than what it contains. It tastes horrible, though. But, I don’t know. Maybe you like it?

ryc: I would tell your boyfriend to shower, but I just have no idea of how to contact him.

vinegar, cinnamon (helps the impact of sugar on your body, a more slow gradual release), fruits, veggies (raw diet), lean chicken breast, lean pork (the other white meat), water, water, water.

hummus uses a lot of olive oil, but its good for you.

lemon juice, orange juice, some soy sauce (the salt will suck the water weight out of you), marinades.

Have you thought about just increasing fiber intake or using proteins to replace carbs? I heard both of them work and they’re both very filling.

Would love to hear more about your dishes =D

come to think of it, the “diet dishes” sound scrumptious… doens’t even sound “diet”

btw how do you julienned a cucumber?

@catch_MOI_attention - with my trusty julienne blade! More useful than a husband. You will see a feature of him very soon, when I post my progress on Turnip cakes tomorrow. I’ll be julienning all night – I’m actually counting that as my cardio workout for the day.

    Try the Special K diet!

It worked for W and me….2 meals a day with controlled portions of the Special K ( I mix it with bran for more fibre).  You can choose to have the berry/sugar coated flavour with skim milk or the plain one with Yo-Plait’s no-fat yoghurt.  I tend to keep both flavours to keep me entertained.

The other meal in the day can be a proper mail.  I try to keep it low carbs or protein-based.

It’s not too bad because of the variation and you still get to have a meal a day…later on, you can cut it to only having that for brekkie and early dinner.

And the beauty of it?? Quick and cheap!

@bellisa - sans waygyu, fois gras and vintage dom…

did I tell you a certain someone decided to pop open the Dom one night (last week) at 3am after he’s been drinking since lunchtime? We treated it like a bottle of pellegrino. Shame…
